SPRING'S GOLD by Lynn Bauer - Gorgeous views of spring beauty at the Wind Wolves Preserve near Bakersfield, California. Much of the year our hills are covered with the golden colors of dried grass. We are know as the "Golden State." But, in the spring, our gold changes to bright yellow as millions of neon yellow wildflowers carpet our hills! This incredible landscape is part of the 93,000 acre non-profit preserve that is overseen by the Wildland's Conservancy group. The area covers many elevation that range from the Mojave Desert, San Joaquin Valley, High Sierra Mountain Range, and Coast Ranges. It is an amazing place to visit!!

I have spent most of my life living in Southern California where I have developed an appreciation for all the beauty provided by nature. I've been blessed to be able to visit gorgeous mountains, like the High Sierra, which is home to some of the most majestic sights on earth, such as Yosemite National Park, as well as making quick trips to the beaches of the Pacific Coast, if I want to spend an evening shooting a sunset. One of my favorite past times has been to spend the spring season hunting down amazing wildflower blooms...including two years of "Superbloom" seasons in 2017 and 2019.
