The Texas Hill Country is an area within the state of Texas that is much different than the rest of the state. In the Hill Country, you will think that you have found a little piece of heaven within the desert! The area is filled with rolling hills, areas of forest, grasslands, canyons, lakes and rivers, deer that roam among the homes, and gorgeous wildflowers in the spring.It is an area that runs from around Austin to the north, and San Antonio to the south. The Hill Country topography is made up of such that there are many underground aquifers that provide water to many of the major cities. The area is prone to both drought, as well as to periods of intense rain, with possible flash flooding. I have spent most of my life living in Southern California where I have developed an appreciation for all the beauty provided by nature. I've been blessed to be able to visit gorgeous mountains, like the High Sierra, which is home to some of the most majestic sights on earth, such as Yosemite National Park, as well as making quick trips to the beaches of the Pacific Coast, if I want to spend an evening shooting a sunset.
