Fall colors explode beyond the boundaries of a wood fenceline along the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina near the Virginia border. This photo was taken on Oct. 24, 2012...mere days before Hurricane Sandy hit, which probably stripped the trees and brush bare of all these wonderful colors.
