WILD HORSES ON THE HILL by Lynn Bauer - These are just two of the many wild horses that call Ruidoso, New Mexico, home. Although these horses roam freely, they seem to be somewhat domesticated in their lack of fear of humans. These two stood up a a nearby hill as many of the rest of their pack were eating apples off a tree in someone's yard and the people seemed to be hand feeding them the apples. A few others were wandering around the storage shed area next door. I was able to get out of my car to take pictures, and a few of the younger ones walked within feet of me. It was a thrill as it was my first trip to Ruidoso and seeing the wild horses was one of the things that I wanted most to experience while I was there!

I have spent most of my life living in Southern California where I have developed an appreciation for all the beauty provided by nature. I've been blessed to be able to visit gorgeous mountains, like the High Sierra, which is home to some of the most majestic sights on earth, such as Yosemite National Park, as well as making quick trips to the beaches of the Pacific Coast, if I want to spend an evening shooting a sunset.
