Description
WHEN WINTER TOUCHES SPRING by Lynn Bauer is a scene of exquisite beauty as a dry and barren wilderness is transformed during the changing of the seasons. The desert floor in Lancaster, California, is loaded with a variety of spring wildflowers. Great numbers of the state flower...the California poppy create a virtual sea of bright orange in front of the Tehatchapi Mountains which have just received a dusting of snow from very late spring storm. This area of Lancaster sits adjacent to the Poppy Reserve and has some of the most beautiful wildflowers you will ever see. It's hard to believe that most of the year this area is barren, and the only plants to be seen are tumbleweeds and cacti!
