THERE'S FIRE by Lynn Bauer - Where There's Smoke...There's Fire! And, in this case it is the Thomas Fire that is covering our horizon in a layer of dark smoke. The Thomas Fire is now the largest fire on record in California, destroying many homes and other buildings, and taking the life of at least one fireman. The toll this fire has taken in truly tragic. Somehow, in the midst of life's tragedies, we learn to look for the beauty...it is how we survive. So, in spite of the destruction, I found this beautiful view at Channel Islands Harbor in Ventura, and let it's beauty speak to my heart! I hope it will speak to yours, as well.

I have spent most of my life living in Southern California where I have developed an appreciation for all the beauty provided by nature. I've been blessed to be able to visit gorgeous mountains, like the High Sierra, which is home to some of the most majestic sights on earth, such as Yosemite National Park, as well as making quick trips to the beaches of the Pacific Coast, if I want to spend an evening shooting a sunset. One of my favorite past times has been to spend the spring season hunting down amazing wildflower blooms...including two years of "Superbloom" seasons in 2017 and 2019.
