THE STEINBACH HOUSE IN CASTROVILLE by Lynn Bauer - Springtime in Castroville, Texas, is as beautiful as it gets! This town is full of quaint French country charm! This is a 1618 Fachwerk house (a style of building common in Germany, France and Switzerland that features roughhewn beam construction and stucco) brought over from France. It serves as the town’s Visitor Center. One of the great things about this town is that they have carried on the European tradition of growing bright red poppies around the town in the spring, as can be seen here in this image.

I have spent most of my life living in Southern California where I have developed an appreciation for all the beauty provided by nature. I've been blessed to be able to visit gorgeous mountains, like the High Sierra, which is home to some of the most majestic sights on earth, such as Yosemite National Park, as well as making quick trips to the beaches of the Pacific Coast, if I want to spend an evening shooting a sunset.
