TROUT DREAMS IN THE HIGH SIERRA by Lynn Bauer - After eating lunch at one of our favorite restaurants in the High Sierra, we took a walk out back where I captured this incredible scene! Fall reflections over the pond at the Double Eagle Resort in the June Lake Loop, outside of Mammoth Lakes, California. And, to top it all off, there was a nice big trout in the water in front of me! (Had to take this one to show to my son!) These aspen trees were at their peak, as they glowed in the afternoon sun. Within a day, or two, of our time there, a storm with high winds blew through, and I'm sure these trees lost most of their leaves. So, I feel very blessed to have gotten this image when I did!
Autumn is a glorious season in the Sierras...and, it's twice as good when you get beautiful reflections like this! And, it's one of the best times for fishing, as well!
The June Lake Loop is located between the towns of Mammoth Lakes and Lee Vining off of Highway 395 in California. It is part of the Inyo National Forest and the John Muir Wilderness Area in Mono County, California.
