Description
NATURE'S COLORFUL RESILIENCE - SUPERBLOOM 2019 by Lynn Bauer - In the wake of the Woolsey Fire of 2018, I have been driving the many canyons between my home, near the fire's origin, and the Pacific Coast in Malibu. Many of the burn areas are coming back with wildflowers that are coloring the hills with gorgeous palettes! This scene shows bright yellow mustard and goldfields, swirled in a mix of bright green grasses, the soft blue and white stalks of lupines, and deep purple of California bluebells (I'm not sure why they aren't called "purplebells," but that's their name!) Amid the gorgeous tapestry of color, the charred remains of bushes poke through here and there as a reminder of the fact that this beauty is rising from the ashes of a horrific fire. But, for today...we focus of this incredible beauty! Today, our hills are reminding me of a Monet's garden!
Taken during the "Superbloom" of 2019.
