Description
FEMALE ALLEN'S HUMMINGBIRD IN HONEYSUCKLE FUCHSIA by Lynn Bauer - Such an adorable scene as a tiny little hummingbird perches on a branch of a honeysuckle fuchsia tree in the morning light. Pretty yellow hibiscus and pink bougainvillea flowers provide a bit of background bokeh which adds to the beauty of the scene. We have two types of brown hummingbirds in Southern California...and, they both look the same from the front. This is an Allen's hummingbird, which closely resembles a Rufous. The Allen's tend to stay year-round and the Rufous travel through during the spring migration, only making a brief stop now and then.
