PURPLE BEAUTY by Lynn Bauer - While returning from a trip to scout a trail in Crested Butte, Colorado, I spied another trail on our drive home. A quick pull-over produced this beautiful scene of purple lupine mixed with purple asters. Sunset was quickly approaching and the clouds were turning soft shades of pink. It was not a planned trail, but it was one of my favorite stops on our trip as the flowers were just beautiful!
Crested Butte is known as the "Wildflower Capital of Colorado." It is located in the San Juan Mountains, which are part of Colorado's Rocky Mountain Range.

I have spent most of my life living in Southern California where I have developed an appreciation for all the beauty provided by nature. I've been blessed to be able to visit gorgeous mountains, like the High Sierra, which is home to some of the most majestic sights on earth, such as Yosemite National Park, as well as making quick trips to the beaches of the Pacific Coast, if I want to spend an evening shooting a sunset.
